New Networking Features in FreeBSD

André Oppermann

FreeBSD has evolved drastically in the development branch 7.x-CURRENT and especially so in the network area. The talk gives an in-depth overview of all network stack related enhancements, changes, tunings and new code with their rationale which was put into FreeBSD from 6.0-RELEASE to 7-CURRENT. It also gives a good look into the near future on upcoming things to expect for following releases.

André Oppermann is a entrepreneur and FreeBSD kernel developer. He has done a fundraise in June 05 to spend full 3 month working exclusively on optimzing FreeBSD's IP and TCP stacks.
